Growth through Knowledge

EduPulse was established in 2023 by Adam and Chris following two years of discussions about the need to enable more people to have a voice within the education sector and to better connect the brilliant minds working in Initial Teacher Education, universities and schools.

With evidence engagement at the heart of all they do, EduPulse writes for publications, creates space for conversation through its podcast, reviews recent publications, provides talks and workshops for trusts, universities and schools and provides informal support for anyone who wants it in the education world.

We do not charge for any of this work because we believe in the value of being in the conversation, bringing others into the conversation and paying any value forward in the spirit of our collective aim to improve education.

From leadership coaching to curriculum design work and implementation support for Instructional coaching programmes, EduPulse also offers a range of paid for services for those who find value in the ethos of the organisation’s free contributions to the sector.

Director

Adam Kohlbeck

MA PGDip PGCE BA (Hons) CMgr FCMI FCCT

Adam is an experienced senior leader and teacher based in London, UK. He has extensive knowledge and expertise in the fields of Instructional coaching, curriculum design and teacher development.

Holding a Masters degree in Educational leadership (Distinction, 2023), Adam is also a fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching and a fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, who also accredit him as a Chartered Manager.

Adam is Deputy Head of Birkbeck primary school in Bexley, South London. Birkbeck is a Local Authority Maintained school with an excellent reputation, achieving Key stage 2 results within the top 5% of the country the best within the local authority in 2023.

Passionate about playing a role in developing the wider profession, Adam also works as a consultant associate for Pixl and has spoken at conferences and written a course about curriculum leadership for this organisation. He also sits on the Industry advisory board for the National Institute of Teaching and Education (NITE) and has been invited to provide guest lectures on teaching and leadership for a Russell group university.

In April 2024, Adam joined the team at Teacher Talk Radio presenting a weekly show on Mondays from 6pm - 7:30pm.

Chris Passey

MA PGDip CMgr FCMI FIoL FCCT FRSA

Chris is an award-winning educator and children's author based in the West Midlands.

A proud Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching, Chris recently gained his MA in Educational Leadership (Distinction, 2023) with Coventry University and the National Institute of Teaching & Education as well as being admitted as a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and a Chartered Manager (CMgr, FMCI). In April 2024, Chris was made a Fellow of the Institute of Leaderships (FIoL).

Chris is Deputy Head of Kimichi School in Birmingham: a small musical specialist school, Kimichi was founded by Sally Alexander MBE in 2014. At Kimichi, Chris takes responsibility for whole-school English curriculum and co-leads on personal development, behaviour and professional development.

Passionate about education and supporting others, Chris is Chair of Governors at Waseley Hills High School under the Central Schools Region Trust (CRST) founded by the RSA, of which Chris is a Fellow.

With skills in SEND advocacy and context-dependent leadership, Chris trains independent school SENDCos for the Independent Schools Association (ISA) and sits on the industry advisory board for the National Institute of Teaching and Education.
